Aerophonie for large symphonic wind orchestra

This work was written in 1995 for the Mannheim Symphonic Youth Wind Orchestra. The composer was looking for more chamber music possibilities away from the typical “brass band sound”. The result is a rather lyrical piece that plays with tonal colors, but also presents the power of the wind orchestra as a sounding body.
