The TRIO Musik Edition was founded in 1993 by Martin Lamprecht, Michael Nowotny, and Friedemann Strube.
Originally, the publishing program focused on literature for wind instruments. Separate series were created for the main sections: WIND BAND, BRASS, and WOODWIND, each distinguished by its color and graphic design. Special attention was paid to the quality of the notation design in order to ensure a clear and understandable presentation of the musical text.
In selecting works, it was important to give equal importance to the arrangement of classical and popular works as well as contemporary compositions. Experienced composers and arrangers were engaged for both areas.
In 1999, TRIO Musik Edition expanded its range to include string and choral music. The independent series MUSICA ALLEGRA focuses more on beginner and amateur literature and is particularly suitable for use in teaching and home music-making. Numerous editions have since been published in these areas.
