Description
Antonin Dvořák (1841-1904)
The Noon Witch
for wind quintet fl, ob, cl, hn, bsn
Arr.: Christoph Schneider
Dvořák’s symphonic poem “The Midday Witch” was written in 1896 after the fantastic and at the same time gruesome story by K. J. Erben and inspired the composer to create a very varied and pictorial tonal language. With Christoph Schneider’s arrangement, this richness of color is now transferred to the classical wind quintet instrumentation in a chamber music style.
