Description
Jean Baptiste Breval (1753-1823)
Sonata in D major, op. 28,1
for violoncello and piano or 2 violoncellos
Arr.: Emmerich Bünemann
This sonata by Mozart’s contemporary Bréval was composed as a solo piece accompanied by a second violoncello, as was customary at the time of its composition. The reworking of the bass part into a piano version usually took place later. With this edition, both performance variants, cello with piano and two cellos, are possible by enclosing the corresponding parts (violoncello II as playing score with inserted solo part).
