The present new edition of the “Deutsche Messe” follows the original in terms of sound structure. Distorted harmonies, which often occur in earlier editions, have been cleaned up and the original postludes reinstalled. Schubert’s four-part choral setting has been transferred without change to the Flugelhorn I / II, baritone and euphonium parts. The rest of the instrumentation leans heavily on Schubert’s transparent writing; the usual tutti instrumentation was avoided. The original keys were generally retained in the version for choir. Choral scores are available separately, minimum order 8 copies.
