The Suite for Brass Ensemble is structured like a Baroque dance suite. That was precisely the challenge for me: to write a piece consisting of short, characteristically distinct movements that would – hopefully – result in a varied and engaging composition. Each section was written to highlight its unique strengths, whether high or low brass. (Norbert Ziegler)
