“The ‘Suite for Brass Ensemble’ is formally laid out like a baroque dance suite. That was precisely the challenge for me: to write a piece that contains short movements that are characteristically different and thus – hopefully – make the composition entertaining. Each register was worked out in such a way that its individual strengths come to the fore, whether low or high brass.” (Norbert Ziegler).
