Thanks to the research work of historian Johannes Timmermann, the original orchestral version of the anthem of the Free State of Bavaria from 1860 has been rediscovered. The new edition for wind orchestra is based exactly on the historical original. F major was chosen as the key to make it easier to sing along. A song sheet with permission to copy is enclosed.
The edition was significantly supported by the Bavarian Minister of State for Science, Research and the Arts, Hans Zehetmair.
