The idea for this concertino was born in 1997 at the “International Tuba & Euphonium Conference” in Riva del Garda. Contact with international musicians – including Steven Mead, to whom this work is dedicated – and the excellent, interesting music interpreted there inspired Rolf Wilhelm to write this composition. It is an uncomplicated piece that wants to express nothing other than the joy of life and love of music.
