Description
Dorothee Eberhardt (*1952)
Campion
for bass clarinet (or clarinet) and piano
Campion for bass clarinet and piano was composed in 2000 for Due Boemi Di Praga, i.e. the bass clarinetist Josef Horák and his wife, the pianist Emma Korvárnová. This two-movement work opens with solo bass clarinet. The unrelenting rhythmic drive is established early, and with a unique blend of flexibility in the pulse and precision of compositional structure, the dialogue between the two instruments is one of constant fluidity.
Campion can also be performed on Bb clarinet.
