Für die gleiche Besetzung wie Mozarts berühmtes “Kegelstatt-Trio” KV 498 verfasste der Lübecker Komponist und Klarinettist Johann J. D. Stiehl (1800-1872) sein Opus 2. Das Werk zeugt von fundierter Kenntnis im Tonsatz und eignet sich bestens, im Kontext mit Mozarts Werk aufgeführt zu werden. Für die Ausgabe wurden der Erstdruck von August Cranz (Hamburg) sowie die autographe Partitur (Lübecker Stadtbibliothek) als Quellen herangezogen.

For the same ensemble as Mozart’s famous “Kegelstatt Trio” K. 498, the Lübeck composer and clarinetist Johann J. D. Stiehl (1800-1872) composed his Opus 2. This work demonstrates a profound knowledge of composition and is ideally suited to be performed alongside Mozart’s piece. For this edition, the first print by August Cranz (Hamburg) and the autograph score from the Lübeck City Library were used as sources.
