Suite für Saxophonquartett, Opus 10

Die Insel-Stadt Grado im Friaul an der Nordküste der Adria bezaubert mit ihrer Lagunen-Landschaft ebenso wie mit dem mitten in der Stadt gelegenen Hafen, den uralten Kirchen und nicht zuletzt mit der üppigen Tier- und Pflanzenwelt über und unter Wasser. In den vier Sätzen der Suite „Immagini di Grado“ (Bilder von Grado) lässt der Komponist die geschilderten Szenen zu Klanggemälden werden.

The island city of Grado in Friuli on the north coast of the Adriatic Sea enchants with its lagoon landscape as well as with the harbor in the middle of the city, the ancient churches and last but not least with the lush flora and fauna above and below water.
In the four movements of the suite “Immagini di Grado” (Pictures of Grado), the composer turns the described scenes into sound paintings.
