Scott Joplin created these three ragtimes for piano in the heyday of his career. He was not only one of the first successful rag composers, but is also regarded as the “perfecter of this style”, so to speak.

Since the original is a piano movement, the realization of the rhythmic precision on the string instrument seems particularly interesting in this edition. This can be achieved through a powerful swing or through playful, dancing precision.
