Distorted harmonies, which often occur in earlier editions, have been cleaned up and the original postludes reinstalled. Schubert&#8217;s four-part choral setting has been transferred without change to the flugelhorn I \/ II, baritone and euphonium parts. The rest of the instrumentation leans heavily on Schubert&#8217;s transparent writing; the usual tutti instrumentation was avoided. The original keys were lowered accordingly in the version for folk song.
